Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Madison Salsman is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist practicing under the supervision of Jonathan Newsum and a Board-Certified Music Therapist with over 5 years of experience working with children and families.
Madison has built a strong clinical foundation of holistic, compassionate, and integrative care through her work in the medical setting, supporting those amidst their treatment journeys and those experiencing end-of-life situations. She practices a person-centered, family-based approach that focuses on providing a safe space where clients and families are able to authentically explore their emotional experiences. Madison also believes in the power of community and ongoing support to build an individualized tool bag of skills, as well as empowering clients to identify and utilize their strengths independently.
Born and raised in Kentucky, Madison studied music therapy in Boston, and has traveled locally and abroad before finally making her home in California. Learning from people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds has helped Madison to understand the importance of recognizing and empowering each individual as the expert of their own lived experience. Drawing from various modalities, Madison strives to support client growth, self-awareness, emotional expression, and self-discovery.
When she’s not working with clients, Madison enjoys snuggling up with her cockapoo, Milo, and two cats Kira and Gracie, taking trips to the ocean, ballroom dancing, and writing music. She can often be found singing Disney tunes in the car on her way to the office!
