IDENTIFYING & OVERCOMING CHALLENGES.
Balance for teenagers aged 13-17 is a safe space to meet with peers to discuss the unique pressures that cause stress and insecurity in daily life.
These are some of the most challenging years in life, and even more so in today’s fast-paced world. With so many obstacles to overcome, including the negative effects of social media, there is more weighing on our teens than ever before. That’s why we created our Balance teen therapy group.
Balance meets weekly for 90-minutes. This small group setting provides a safe space for teens to share what they’re going through. They’ll learn how others are handling similar situations — and how they can better prepare and react. All of our teens attend weekly or bi-weekly individual therapy sessions to ensure that their individual goals are being worked toward.
Your teen will:
- Learn self-exploration and how to identify social and emotional challenges
- Learn and practice coping skills
- Begin to form positive connections with others in a safe
Our clinicians use a variety of methods in our teen group therapy, including dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT). DBT is a cognitive-behavioral treatment used to help balance opposites. Instead of looking at the world with an either-or outlook, teens will learn how to see things as both-and. As a group, they’ll learn and practice skills of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
We require that you, as the parent, and your teen attend an initial consultation (intake) session with one of our clinicians. Your clinician will get to know your teen and your family, learn what support is needed as well as what your teen’s strengths are. We will then develop clinical goals and expectations and understand how we can best work to reach those goals in group therapy, and maybe even individual therapy.

Thank you so much for all that you have done for T and our family. You are an angel. I really do not know how we could have made it through without all of your amazing guidance. We will never forget what you have taught us.
